My Delivery Story

Hello..

It has been a pretty hectic week. By the way, just to cut it short, I just want to tell you the journey of my 3rd delivery.

I reached the hospital at 9.00am and directly go to the admission counter. It took me around 15 minutes to get everything settled. Since husband is having urgent meeting in the morning, my dad accompanied me to the hospital. 

Go to the labor room and get everything checked by 10.00am. However, the Doctor had some urgent thing at her clinic and only reached the labor room at 11.30am. I was 3 cm dilated and she induces me. Husband reaches hospital around 12.00pm

It took me around hours to be 10cm dilated. Since he baby head is quite big, at 6-7cm I have already feel like pushing. However, the nurse has warned me not to do so since the head is still far ahead. So she insists me of taking the laughing gas to avoid pushing to early.

The pain is so terrible that i can still fill it till now. I think this is the worst delivery experience so far maybe because the baby is big.

Taking the laughing gas is not the best option because you would feel very sleepy. I found myself asleep quite a couple of times. So to avoid falling asleep while pushing, I asked my husband to wash my face with water so that by the time the doctor let me push, I am alert and fresh.

For your information, I only take light breakfast at 8.00am and until delivered I did not have taken anything. So right after delivered I have already got the feeling of nausea.

I was quite surprise the baby weighted 4.25 kg which is out of my expectation. 3 days before, during scanning, the doctor expected the baby to be 3.6kg only. Now he is 4.25kg and no wonder it hurt so much!

The baby seems to be behaving well. It just that, maybe he did not get enough milk since he is quite big he demand a lot if milk as well and for the first 2-3 days I cannot produce enough milk for him. He looks quite yellowish in the eyes. Hopefully, it will get better very soon because tomorrow we will be having appointment with his Pediatrician and I don’t want him to be admitted for jaundice.

Induce

Dear Readers,

Tomorrow I will be induce. Hope that everything go smoothly.

The last time I was induce is for Aqeel delivery. It took me 6 hours before he make his appearance. Hopefully, this time it will take less than that.

I am not so sure how my parent and the maids gonna take care of the kids since they are kind of very clingy to me lately. Especially Aqeel, he can scream as loud as he can and cried.

The next baby's name gonna start with the letter A as well same like his brother and sister. So after this its gonna be the Triple A.

It is pretty nervous thinking that I'm gonna deliver a baby tomorrow. I'm gonna leave home around 8.30 in the morning. Husband need to attend a meeting before he can accompanied me in the labor room. Hopefully he can make it.

After all, lets pray that my hemorrhoid getting better right after delivery and I do not need to go through another surgery to remove it.

Brotherly Love

What a wonderful day I had today. Being a mom of two little kids, most of the times give me a headache, body ache and many more. But somehow it gives me wonderful moments too.

Like today, I witnessed the two kids holding hands while walking towards the kitchen from the living room. I do not get to take the pictures as it happen so fast.

After that, instead of giving his cousin who was sitting next to him a biscuit, he insisted his sister to have it first. I was sitting next to him at that time. This was the conversation:-

Me: Aqeel bagi Zahirah biskut (Aqeel give Zahirah the biscuit)

Aqeel: Bukan, Aisha dulu. (No. Aisha first) He stands up and walk to Aisha.

He is just 2 and half years old and yet he knows how to take care of his little sister.

My mom previously had informed me that last time when I was working, they bring the kids back to my mom's hometown in Melaka for a quick visit. Throughout their stay, Aqeel keeps on holding Aisha's hands. Even my grandma notices that he really taking care of his little sister.

How proud am I having you as my first child, Aqeel. You know how to take care of you other siblings. Hope that this stays forever and may our family live happily together.

New Gadget from Dettol

However, look at what Dettol has to offer. New gadget that look cool. You do not have to touch the dispenser to get the soap out. 

I have always come across a situation where I want to clean out my hands after having my meal. Some people do not wash they hands first before pressing the dispenser. Hence, leaving the dispenser dirty with their food leftovers. Seeing this kind of situation right in front of me, I have to wash the dispenser before I make my final cleaning with the soap. Doesn't it look GROSS to you??

By having this gadget I think I wont have any problem washing my hand at public places. Unless, the person still want to hold the gadget.

Frisco Day

Confinement

After much discussion with my gynae, we agreed to induce on 22 February 2012. Such a great number to remember.

Now I am weighted 94kg. Yup, I know that I am super big and that is why I have determined to do whatever it takes to reduce to at least 70kg at the end of the confinement period.

I am not so sure what is the standard confinement period for other mommies, but for me, my mom has set it to be 44 days. 

So my challenge will start this Thursday insyallah.

Please pray for my smooth delivery. 

I have also asked the husband to join for the challenge. Recently, he had experience GAUT and I think one of the reason is because of his weight.

For confinement, I am using AMWAY product. Thought of using TANAMERA, but my mom has already ordered it from her friend. Maybe I can try the spa treatment because I heard it is quite good.

False Alarm

It feels stupid, embarrassing that after 2 kids, I still had false alarm. This is false alarm for labour pain. Means that I feel the pain but somehow that baby still does not want to come out yet or it is not dilated enough yet.

Before Aisha delivered, I was having a severe pain. But somehow, I still manage to sleep since it was early morning and I dont really bother the pain. So when I wake up I informed my parent and they insist that I go for check up. Less that I know, it was already 5 cm dilated. 

The nurse advice me that for the next baby, I should have not waited until the pain become severe. Once I feel the pain I should have come immediately for check up or I might ended up delivering in the house or in the car.

So that explain this morning story. I already felt slight pain around 3 am. But somehow I waited until it is already Subuh. I took shower and prayed. Later I went down to see my mom and inform her. She somehow still remember the nurse advice and asked me to quickly go for check up. At this point I still feel the contraction.

When I reached Hospital they did check up for the baby heart and the contraction. Somehow, the contraction stopped. Seriously, that is depressing. The dilation is only 1 cm and I was sent home.

Maybe after this I should just wait until the pain is unbearable. At least that time it is confirm to be labor pain.

Notty Kids

"children that are notty are those whom lack of attention" by Prof Muhaya. 

The statement above was taken from my friend's blog.I must say that I dont really agree on Prof Muhaya's statement. 

What you about to read is just from my point of view. I would not say that the Prof is totally wrong. She may have done her own research and basic for her saying.

For me kids are meant to be naughty. That is how they grow up but there are kids who is nice, follow orders and so on as well. But usually that will only happen when you only have 1 kid to take care of. Meaning that you did not send him or her to nursery and you take care of him/her by yourself.

My experience is difference, since 1 have son who seem to be the only boy in the house. He has 4 other cousin who are girls and a sister. All of them are taken care of by my parent and the maids during days.

Yes, I would admit that my son is a very naughty boy so as his cousins. They do not even pushed at each other but sometimes they bites or knocked between them. They also had kids fight but everything is still under control. As now, there is no major injury.

From the situation I inform above, that does not mean that I and my siblings did not give sufficient attention to our kids. But it is just the way they play and interact with each other. It can be hurt, but for me you must let them face it and learn how to handle it. There is no need shouting because it is some sort of emotional abuse.

Huggies Diapers

We like Huggies Diapers. The velcro tapes at each side of the diapers really ease me. t can be fastened and refastened without hurting baby's skin. Some diapers have those kind of sticker tapes that when refastened it will immediately tear apart.

Usually for me, right after delivery, I would use the Huggies Newborn Diapers. I was samples given by Pantai Cheras Hospital for every check up I went. So usually it is enough for 1 week. After that, I would use Huggies Ultra. It help prevent diaper rash, pull in wetness quickly and lock it for more that 12 hours and give better comfort to the baby. I would use it until the baby is already 3 months old because at this time, their skin is very soft and fragile. It is better for me to spend more on the diapers rather than seeing my baby hurt and cry all time.

 

 

After that only I would use Huggies Dry Comfort. For me it is comfort enough for my kids as it provide extra protection against leaks at the legs. I would recommend this diapers to mommies with super active kids like mine.

Investing in Unit Trust

I think that almost everyone knows the existence of Unit Trusts and people have been invested for many years.

Almost every banks and financial institutions offer varieties of Unit Trust which include Islamic, Conventional, Bonds, Equity and so on.

The concern everyone would have now is which Unit Trust is the best and give the maximum return.

I cannot answer that since different unit trust carry different risk and return. The basic that we learn is that the higher the return is the higher the risk it relates to.

I am not unit trust agent. But i did invest from time to time. You do not need an agent to invest it for you but somehow, I use an agent since I do not want to trouble myself.

I have been investing for 1 year now (yes I am still new to it), but one thing for sure, you cannot expect that you will earn profit in the next 6 months. 

Since I invest regularly (every 3 months), I need some tools that can help me track my investment movement. My husband invested as well so do my kids. To track it manually by myself is pretty ridiculous.

So I use Signal Invest to help me monitor. One thing about this tool is when you reinvest your distribution, the profit and loss is included in their calculation. For me, the distribution is already a profit from the investment that we made. So, in order for me to closely see whether I am making profit or loss from the investment, I minus out the distribution from the amount invested. Meaning that I only included the cash outflow I make.

Update at 35 weeks

Hi All,

It is a valentine's day!  However, i dont celebrate it since it is against Islam culture.

I am now at my 35 weeks and the baby since does not want to make his appearance. The pain is like everywhere.

To make things worse, Aisha is having flu and cough. Hence, she could not really sleep peacefully. I have to wake up every hour to comfort her. Luckily I am still on mc. How I wish I am working now so that I am not bored to dead and at least i get to walk outside.

For Aqeel, he is soo clingy and whining. There are times when I just could not handle him anymore and just let him crying. My mom said that maybe he can sense that his brother is coming out soon. Hope that everything will turn normal after my delivery. I just do not know how to handle the kids during the confinement if they are still acting the same way.

Regarding my hemorrhoid, the surgeon told me that I will not go back to normal until I deliver. The worst thing is if I walk or stand or sit for a long time, the hemorrhoid will come out further more. Hence, he will give me mc until I deliver to avoid the worst.

As per my gynae, the earlier she can induce me is at my 37 weeks. That would be another 1 week from now. How I wish the baby will come out any day this week instead of next week. Hopefully after delivery I dont have to do any surgery on the hemorrhoid. If not I would have to face double pain!

There are a lot to says, but since the kids are whining, i am not able to write further.

Double Trouble

I feel like slapping hard at my face. Aqeel and Aisha the Double Trouble kids who had make my stay at home worst.

Now they know my existence at home even though I hide in the room. Seriously, from getting better hemorrhoid, now it is becoming worse.

Their naughtiness is above my limit and capabilities. I even thought of going to back my home at Bukit Jalil. 

Aisha, a girl who is supposed to behave is acting worst than her brother. 

To make thing worst, they are not even scared of me even though I yell or pinched them. *Sigh*..

There are scenes such as Aisha put her feet on Aqeel's stomach while he is drinking his milk, Aisha pulling her cousin's pant off, Aisha jumping from one chair to another and other dangerous actions.

Taking care of them while me myself at 35 weeks, the baby is 3.5kg and the hemorrhoid i need to take care of, i definitely need extra patience. Now after prayer, i doa' that i will deliver very soon because at least it is easy for me to move around.
